Hey everyone! Remember Neha? Last time..."Show yourself!" the first one yelled, his sword pointed a good three feet from where Neha was. The other was turned in completely the wrong direction. Neha gave a sigh of relief. The first figure was Mica.
She stepped out from her hiding place, surprising Mica. "You could tell your buddy to turn around. That might have helped."
Once he realized who she was, Mica relaxed, embarrassed. "Hey, Kaynil. Turn around. Neha, this is Kaynil. Kaynil, Neha."
Kaynil was a large man, with very broad shoulders and large muscles. He towered over Neha by a good 8 inches. Neha already found herself assessing him. Good in hand to hand. Not quick, but very strong. Can he strategize? Kaynil paused for a moment, but then said, "Ladoa? Heard about your exploits."
Neha flashed a grin. "Glad to hear it. One day I'll be a hero."
"If we all survive this war, I'll be the first to raise a statue." Kaynil replied. Neha's smile broadened. "I'll hold you to that, you know." She then turned to Mica. "So, what story did you feed to old Denar? How'd you get him to let you go?"
It was Mica's turn to smile. "Told him I had a sick sister. Well it wasn't really a lie", he said when he noticed Neha's teasing look of disapproval. "I mean, you are practically my sister, and there is something seriously wrong with you." Neha punched him in the shoulder before getting serious.
"We need a game plan." She turned to Kaynil. "Mica knows this already, but if you're in, be prepared. We will most likely end up with enemies on both sides of the war. Are you still in?"
"Till death." That was good enough for Neha. "So what do we do?"
This was where Mica took over. "In order to gain followers, we need strong support. Financial, and popular support most of all."
"So start with the King." Kaynil joked. "Should be easy enough."
"Actually, that's not a bad idea," Neha put in. "From there we can have access to all kinds of powerful people. So then, let's go."
The barely legal trio started the journey to the King's palace.
